The Alexandria City Council is regularly seeking applicants to fill vacancies on City of Alexandria boards, commissions, and committees. This page provides a listing of positions being considered at the next City Council Meeting. All applicants must complete a Personal Data Record form electronically via the City’s website.

Applications are now in process. 

City Council will make appointments on April 8, 2025.  

A new vacancy list will be posted in the days following that meeting. You may still view upcoming vacancies and submit an application for next month here.

Please note the meaning of the following terminology related to board vacancies:

Expiring Term – denotes a current member's term will be ending soon.  There may or may not be an incumbent applying for the position.

Expired Term - denotes a term completed and no one is in the position.

 

Applicants may only submit an application to one committee at a time.

Applicants must comply with City Ordinance No. 2452, which states that no appointee shall reside outside of the City of Alexandria unless a residency waiver is granted by Council.
