Senior Policy Work Group on Gangs
The primary role of the Senior Policy Work Group on Gangs (Senior Policy Work Group) is to ensure the coordination of all gang-related suppression, intervention and prevention activities that are taking place in the City and to ensure that the City's efforts are coordinated with similar gang-related activities that are occurring elsewhere in the region.
The Senior Policy Work Group on Gangs has the following membership:

- Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney
- Alexandria Sheriff's Office
- Alexandria Police Department
- Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities
- Department of Community & Human Services
- Alexandria City Public Schools
- Alexandria Adult Probation and Parole
- Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Home
- Alexandria Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Service Unit
