Alexandria Police Host Two Additional Dates in Series of Community Conversations with Chief Tarrick McGuire
Alexandria, VA – Alexandria Police Chief, Tarrick McGuire invites the public to speak with him tonight and next week for two additional Community Conversations, fulfilling his promise to gain a deeper understanding of historical challenges and urgent matters that need immediate attention within his first 100 days as Chief of the Alexandria Police Department (APD).
The two additional dates for members of the Alexandria community to provide input and feedback on public safety to the APD are:
Thursday, February 6, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Kate Waller Barrett Library, 717 Queen Street
Tuesday, February 11, 6-7 p.m. at Duncan Branch Library, 2501 Commonwealth Avenue
At previous Community Conversation sessions, residents voiced concerns about neighborhood street and pedestrian safety, school safety, and quality of life issues. Members of the APD Command staff and patrol officers have joined in the three internal listening sessions held earlier in Chief McGuire’s first 100 days.
Members of the community are encouraged to attend and participate in the Community Conversations and engage directly with Chief Tarrick McGuire.
In response to the community feedback we receive, the APD will collaborate with the community to create plans to address the issues raised. The APD will inform the community of these plans and progress while being transparent and accountable for results.
