Support the Rehabilitation of Freedom House Museum Through Spring2ACTion
Alexandria, VA – Historic Alexandria is calling on residents and supporters to contribute to the interior rehabilitation of the Freedom House Museum, ensuring that its powerful stories of resilience and remembrance continue to educate future generations, during this year’s Spring2ACTion, held on April 9, 2025.
Freedom House Museum, a National Historic Landmark, stands as a testament to Alexandria’s complex past. “Once the site of the largest domestic slave-trading operation in the United States, now stands as a powerful reminder of our past, honoring the lives impacted by slavery and inspiring dialogue on justice, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of freedom,” said Gretchen Bulova, Director of the Office of Historic Alexandria. Funds raised during Spring2ACTion will go directly toward the rehabilitation of the museum’s interior, enhancing exhibits, greater accessibility and preserving the space for future visitors.
Spring2ACTion, hosted by ACT for Alexandria, is a 24-hour online fundraising event that encourages Alexandrians to give back to causes they care about.
