The Commonwealth, Ashby, Glebe Flood Mitigation Community Meeting has been changed to an all-virtual event.
The City of Alexandria will host a public meeting on Wednesday, February 19 to share information on the Commonwealth, Ashby, Glebe Flood Mitigation Project.
The Commonwealth, Ashby, Glebe Flood Mitigation Project combines two large-capacity projects and will provide flood relief for the area bounded by Commonwealth Avenue, East Glebe Road, and Ashby Street.
The project includes new storm sewers and additional inlets to increase the capacity of the storm sewer system and reduce flooding. Additionally, the project includes the installation of a new outfall to discharge runoff to Four Mile Run, and green infrastructure practices to provide water quality benefits to the watershed.

City staff share details on the goals of the project, its schedule, and the expected impacts during construction. Project leaders will also be available to answer questions from the community.
