City of Alexandria Seeks Community Input on High Crash Intersections on the West End
The City of Alexandria is seeking community input on seven high-crash intersections on the city’s West End to inform future safety improvement at these locations. The following intersections are being considered:
- King Street and Dawes Avenue
- King Street and 28th Street
- King Street and Park Center Drive
- Seminary Road and Mark Center Avenue
- Seminary Road and Kenmore Avenue/Library Lane
- South Van Dorn Street and South Pickett Street
- South Van Dorn Street and Edsall Road

We want to hear from you! Provide your input by completing a short online feedback form by Monday, April 28. Your input will help the project team identify challenges and needs, as well as opportunities for improvement.
Access the feedback form here.
These intersections were identified through a 2022 citywide crash analysis. That same year, the City secured federal funding via the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safe Streets & Roads for All Grant Program to perform safety audits and develop concept designs for improvements at these locations.
This effort supports the City’s adopted Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic deaths and severe injuries in Alexandria by targeting safety improvements at locations with a history and high risk of fatal or severe crashes.
